Dill is a fine art herb photograph by Barloga Studios, drawing attention to the plant’s branching botanical structure rather than its familiar culinary role. The image belongs to the studio’s broader practice of isolating natural forms so that line, proportion, and texture become the subject.

Each piece is photographed, mastered, and printed by Dennis, Roy, and Chase Barloga in the San Francisco Bay Area, then titled and hand-signed in pencil. The photograph is offered on Nepalese handmade or English watercolor paper, with print-only, shadowbox, and acrylic presentations depending on the selected variant.

“Dill has such fine, branching structure that I notice the line before I think of the herb itself. I like it where the room already has stronger forms; the delicacy gives the wall a little air without making the composition feel empty.”
-Mrs. Mayfair

Care & Ownership

Treat the photograph as a work on paper. Handle unframed prints by the edges with clean, dry hands and avoid touching the image surface. Display away from direct sunlight, strong continuous light, heat sources, HVAC vents, damp walls, and unstable humidity. For shadowbox or acrylic presentations, clean only the exterior glazing with a soft, nonabrasive cloth and keep moisture or cleaning products away from the print and frame openings. Store unframed work clean, dry, and flat in an archival enclosure.

Maker / Heritage

Barloga Studios is a three-generation family photography studio in the San Francisco Bay Area. Dennis, Roy, and Chase Barloga photograph, master, print, title, and hand-sign the work themselves, pairing original photography with distinctive papers and presentation methods. The studio’s character lies in that continuity between image-making, printing, and the physical surface on which the photograph is experienced.
